growing up a faithful daughter of the Church of Gibborim (run by her mother), Karolina was just a sweet, innocent sort of California girl. it turns out, though, that her mother is evil (and her friends' parents are all evil too), her supposed father isn't her father, and her actual father is a glowing regenerating space alien. she and her friends went on the run from their parents and learned about their own respective superpowers (hers is being a literal rainbow) and about themselves as people (or acting on what they've previously figured out, i.e. Karolina's being a lesbian). now they're trying to figure out what comes next.
